Creating your own New Moon Ceremony
I might be a Scorpio (and I do love the deep, dark, erotic & mysterious) but with 4 Libra placements in my chart, I feel such a strong resonance with the energies of Libra.
We had the new moon in Libra overnight (5.54am this morning to be exact) and tonight I will be creating a ceremony to honour the cycles, set intentions, and connect to the themes of Libra season.
If you're inspired, and wish to create more ritual and ceremony in your life, keep reading for some ideas.
Also, a reminder I will be holding a Full Moon cacao ceremony on the 8th October with Nerida Mills and you can purchase tickets here.
NEW MOON ENERGY
Each month, the new moon represents a time for completing cycles, new beginnings, connecting to your desires and planting the seeds of intentions for the next cycle.
NEW MOON IN LIBRA
Libra is all about beauty, harmony and balance and rules the 7th house of partnerships. I think of wild beauty, amazing grace, enchanting harmonies and for me, perspectives that encompass all possibilities. Libra is not a fence sitter, but can see both sides and take neither, preferring unity over separation. These are useful qualities in partnership.
It's helpful to think of partnerships as not only romantic relationships but also business partnerships, creative collaborations, co-parenting dynamics, one on one clients or mentors, and even your relationship with the Earth, or with the Cosmos. My point is, if you’re not in a romantic relationship, this focus on partnerships is still so relevant.
JOURNAL ON THESE THEMES
Today you might like to think about these themes and how they are playing out in your life. You might pick up a pen and journal, or even talk to someone close about your desires for more beauty, harmony or balance in your life. Here's some questions to ponder…
To create more balance in your life, what aspects of your daily habits could you change?
Are there any relationships where you like to feel more connection, intimacy, or reciprocity? How could you go about creating this?
Where do you experience beauty and pleasure in your life and how can you appreciate this even more?
CREATE YOUR CEREMONY
Through spending time thinking and journalling, what desires are surfacing for you? What is it that you want to call in to your life in the next month, and the next 6 or 12 months? This might be an energy or mood you want to cultivate or could be a specific, tangible outcome.
Get clear on your intentions, and then create a space for your ceremony. This can be alone or with others. It can be as simple as playing some music, lighting a candle and writing out your intentions on a piece of paper and then reading them out loud.
If you have time and space, you may want to also collect flowers, make the space beautiful, create an altar with objects reflecting the Libra themes, and infuse your intentions with energy through dance, singing or self pleasure. Be guided by your intuition, there are no rules.
I love to end a ceremony by symbolically planting my intentions, or releasing them into the cosmos. This might look like digging in the garden and ‘planting’ the piece of paper holding your intention, or alternatively burning the paper, trusting that your desires will be fulfilled.
MY INTENTIONS
I have felt the completion of several cycles in the last few days and this has created a beautiful sense of ease and space for me. I'm appreciating the lessons learned in the last 12 months around partnership, and my intentions for the next lunar cycle are to share more from this space of beauty, balance and harmony within myself. After a period of rest and retreat, I feel the emergence of Spring and an opening, or perhaps blooming.
This means I intend to hold another online class next week, create a beautiful La Luna cacao ceremony with Nerida, and welcome more women into The Spiral.
I hope you enjoy the shift in energy with the new moon, whether you create ceremony or simply take a moment to notice all the beauty and love in your life right now.
With love
