Australian Emu
While the females of course lay the eggs, it is the emu fathers that get broody and spend eight weeks sitting on the nest, not eating, and only standing to turn the eggs (around 10-12 times a day.) The father also stays and looks after the chicks for up to 18 months, nurturing them and showing them the ways of emu life.
